The National League issues a statement on the ticket allocation situation for the Southend v Oldham playoff final on June 1st.
The National League say they have been working with Southend United, Oldham Athletic, Wembley Stadium, TfL, and other authorities to increase capacity.
Their statement says that each club initially received 17,500 tickets, with an additional 4,000 tickets per club provided due to enhanced rail services on the Bakerloo and Chiltern routes and extra parking at Fryent Country Park.
They add that further tickets are available through coach package sales, which clubs are encouraged to promote.
That, fans should plan travel in advance, with guidance available online. Capacity limits are set by authorities and TfL for safety, not by the National League.
Ans despite disappointment, safety remains the priority, with Wembley Stadium being confirmed as the venue last year, meaning alternative venues weren’t feasible due to extensive planning requirements.

NATIONAL LEAGUE STATEMENT:
The National League wish to make the following statement regarding Promotion Final ticketing allocations.
Since the initial Promotion Final ticket allocations were confirmed with clubs last week, the National League has been in regular dialogue with both clubs and all relevant authorities to find suitable solutions to ensure as many supporters can attend as possible.
Clubs were given an initial allocation of 17,500 unrestricted tickets with availability to increase capacity through available coach ticket packages.
The intention was to always review this situation against demand. Yesterday, Wembley Stadium supported by TFL and the train operating companies provided both clubs with an extra 4,000 tickets each.
The additional capacity has been achieved through a strengthened rail plan on both the Bakerloo and Chiltern routes along with additional parking capacity secured at Fryent Country Park in Brent.
Further tickets can also be made available to clubs who prioritise the sale of tickets via coach packages. We would encourage both clubs to support this initiative to ensure as many fans as possible can attend the Promotion Final at Wembley Stadium on June 1.
All spectators should plan their journey to Wembley Stadium well in advance. Guidance for all fans travelling to the Vanarama Final can be found here.
Capacity restrictions for events at Wembley Stadium are set by the relevant authorities in conjunction with TfL. Any decisions on capacity restrictions cannot and have not been made by the National League.
We share the disappointment felt by fans of both clubs and are working with all the relevant authorities – including both Southend United and Oldham Athletic. However, we also recognise that the safety of fans is paramount importance. All efforts to increase capacity need to be done so in a co-ordinated and appropriate manner that has fans’ safety at the heart.
Wembley Stadium has been the confirmed venue for this season’s Promotion Final since last year, long before the planned closure of Wembley Park station was announced. Events of this size take months of planning and consultation. As such, seeking alternative venues at short notice was not deemed a viable option.
Following the update issued below, tickets have now regrettably sold out.
We would like to thank supporters for their incredible support – we continue to work hard to increase our ticket allocation for this fixture.
Currently, a very small number of tickets will be released… https://t.co/jrSDnioWdU

We remain committed to pushing all stakeholders to find a solution to the capacity issues.
