An Everton fan could be heard over commentary shouting an expletive at Liverpool fan Harrison Rimmer after the Wigan U18s player’s taunt.
Midfielder Rimmer celebrated scoring the first goal in Everton’s new 52,888-capacity stadium by showing six fingers on Monday night, referencing Liverpool’s six European Cup wins, which provoked a strong reaction from one Everton supporter.
A friendly between Everton and Wigan was watched on with 10,000 fans in the South Stand. Rimmer broke the deadlock just 13 minutes in.
Harrison Rimmer who scored for Wigan clearly supports the shite and celebrated by holding up 6 fingers.
Few minutes later, he touches the ball and some blue can be heard over commentary saying “break his fucking legs”

“That young man there, Harrison Rimmer, has just had a moment he will remember for the rest of his life,” the Everton FC commentary said on YouTube.
A few minutes later, he touched the ball and some blue can be heard over commentary saying “break his fucking legs!”
The Liverpool fan turned and taunted those in the crowd with his celebration. Harrison Rimmer and Cole Simms’ four-minute first-half goals proved too much for the Toffees despite a late Ray Roberts penalty in the first test event at Bramley Moore Dock.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot was asked about this in his press conference the following morning who scored the first goal at Everton’s new stadium.
Arne Slot: “Who scored first?”
Reporter: “Harrison Rimmer – A Liverpool fan!”
Arne Slot: “Oh…”

Everton Under-18s head coach Keith Southern said to evertontv: “There were so many positives tonight: the occasion; coming to this fantastic arena.
“It was a landmark event, in terms of the Club and the hope and positivity moving forward into a new future.
“We had a lot of Under-16s come on, we had an Under-15 play some minutes. Everybody got some game time, which was always going to be the case, but there’s still some disappointed faces, in terms of the result.”
“The players have never played in front of a crowd like that before and they’ve never played in an arena like this before,” he continued. “So, it’s difficult to keep a lid on emotions.
“I think a few, not all, but a few in that first 20-minute period suffered a little bit with that. We were a little bit reluctant to pass forward, we were a little bit deep. I think we were a little bit nervous and hesitant.
“I thought, second half, we were better. There was a brightness and an energy and a freshness about some of the subs that came on, and things probably just didn’t fall our way.
“But listen, we’re not too disappointed and it was a fantastic occasion for these boys. It was a fantastic occasion for the Academy, and everyone connected with this Football Club.”
Being part of the first game at Everton’s new stadium was “a really, really proud moment” for Southern, who added: “I came down at 16 from school, had five years at the Football Club as a youth-team player and now I’m fortunate to come back and be part of something special – because this club is special.
“[The stadium’s] incredible, it’s iconic. The geography of it on the waterfront, but even looking beyond that, when you come inside, it’s got a real feel about it.
“I think the worry for some fans possibly might have been when you move away from Goodison, are you going to lose the atmosphere, the tightness from the stands to the pitch? But whoever’s designed it’s done a fantastic job because the stands are on top of you.
“When this is full next season, it’s going to be a hell of a place to play, and those players are going to be extremely fortunate to represent this football club in the Premier League here.”
